Worksite Utility Coordination Supervisor
Performs utility coordination activities which include but not limited to visual inspection of predefined construction areas and reading and interpretation of utility plans to determine the presence of underground and aerial utilities, their potential for conflict with the planned work, and coordination of the utility relocation as required.  Works with the Estimating Department to determine impact of utility relocation on prospective projects in the bidding phase including assimilating any available Utility Adjustment Schedules (UAS) into the proposed project schedule.   Investigate project plans and staging requirements to determine the extent of utility relocations required, both identified in the utility relocation plans as well as potential previously unidentified conflicts. Perform field reconnaissance, prepare agendas, moderate, and document utility coordination meetings. Review and monitor utility relocation progress on projects and track the progress of utility relocation in accordance with the corresponding Utility Adjustment Schedule. Provide training to CWM crews/ sub-contractors as related the Georgia Utility Facility Protection Act and other applicable excavation Laws and Policies. Investigate and document utility damages and work with utility owners to favorably resolve the same. Represent CWM on Task Forces and Industry specific Committees to ensure favorable outcomes regarding proposed Laws and policies.      Initiate and maintain GA 811 work orders including but not limited to Large Project request.   Qualified applicants should possess the following: Education / Certifications / Qualifications: BS in Engineering or Construction Management preferred but may be substituted with extensive field experience Minimum of 1 year of GDOT Worksite Utility Coordination Supervisor (WUCS) experience preferred. Proficient in use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheet, Microsoft Projects and or P6. Proficient in reading and comprehension of highway construction plans, specifications, and contract documents. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
