Position Summary
The Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) is a full time on site salaried position and member of the prime contractor’s management team for the I-285 at I-20 West Interchange Project. The CQCM serves as the Contractor’s authorized representative responsible for the development, implementation, and enforcement of the Construction Quality Management Plan (CQMP). The QC Manager will ensure all work performed by the Prime Contractor, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors comply with the Contract Documents, GDOT standards and specifications, Released for Construction (RFC) plans, and all applicable regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to effectively communicate with project engineers and other members of the team. Prior GDOT experience managing MC Checklist and project closeout is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the QC Team consisting of 3 – 5 Quality Control Engineers
Oversee the development, documentation, and implementation of the construction Quality Management process and procedures performed on the Construction Work.
Oversee and managing Quality Control testing and inspection activities.
Forecast material testing needs for Construction Quality Assurance and Owner Verification firms.
Inspect the Construction Work product for compliance with the requirements of the Project Documents, the PMP, and the Design Documents.
Participate in internal audits in which compliance with processes and procedures are verified and ensuring the implementation of any changes identified.
Participate in the coordination and activities associated with the Control Point Inspections.
Furnish the owner information necessary to catalog all material certifications and test reports.
Facilitate pre-activity meetings.
Participate in initiation and tracking of Non-Conformance Reports (NCR’s)
Required Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of transportation infrastructure construction experience as a construction project manager or superintendent, and experience as a construction quality manager on at least one transportation infrastructure project involving both bridge and roadway aspects of at least $50 million in construction value.
Thorough knowledge of GDOT specifications, construction inspection, materials testing, and design-build delivery.
Certifications & Licenses
ACI Concrete Testing Level 1 or GDOT Concrete Testing Technician (CTT)
OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a project field office and outside in varying types of environmental conditions. The requirements of this position involve extended periods of strenuous physical activity under various field and weather conditions. Applicants must be able to lift, carry, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.
