Baker Constructors is Now a Division of C.W. Matthews

We are thrilled to announce that C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. has acquired Baker Constructors, a well-respected heavy highway, grading, and site development contractor based out of Savannah, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida. This strategic acquisition not only strengthens our current operations in the Savannah market but also expands our presence into the northeastern region of Florida.

Baker Constructors has served the southeast for many years, delivering exceptional infrastructure and grading services, as well as landfill, industrial, and civil construction projects from Virginia to Florida. With this acquisition, Baker’s grading and sitework operations will now continue as part of a new Baker Division under C.W. Matthews, primarily serving the Savannah and Jacksonville areas.

On May 1, 2024, we officially onboarded all 225 Baker employees and we are confident that each new member of the Baker Division of C.W. Matthews will uphold the highest standards of excellence and quality. Most importantly, the Baker team is made up of incredible, hard-working men and women who we are honored to now work alongside. Together, we will continue our commitment to “Getting Georgia Home” and now, proudly, “Getting Florida Home” as well.
