I recently went to an Atlanta United soccer game at Mercedes Benz stadium. We were so excited to be there and watch the game. The atmosphere was hyped up and soon the game started. United kicked off and we passed the ball backwards towards our defenders. New England Revolution immediately pressured the ball and we passed it back further to our goal keeper who miskicked the ball, New England intercepted and scored… 24 seconds into the game!!! By halftime, we were down 0-2. How disappointing!
Sometimes life feels like that, we are down a goal just seconds into the match. The game suddenly seems like an uphill battle. We are playing from behind. We blow it early and are climbing out of a hole all game.
Maybe you feel like you are in a hole. Perhaps each day you wake up only to discover how behind you are. Life can feel like a continual battle and it becomes hard just to face another day. Some battles are ones we created for ourselves out of our own mistakes and failures. Other battles are ones that just come our way. If you feel this way, I have good news!!!
“Because of the Lord’s great love (mercies) we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22 – 23
Know this: While we fail, God’s compassions NEVER FAIL. While we struggle, His love is greater and keeps us from being consumed by the worries and battles of this life. God’s mercies are like a life-line no matter what pit we find ourselves in.
It’s a great reminder every morning that God is faithful. His love never fails. Today is a new day, and His mercies will carry me through.
You are not alone! How can I encourage you today? Take a minute and send me a text or email. Together we will grab ahold of God’s promises. He never fails.
