Utility Foreman

As our Utility Foreman, you’ll supervise and coordinate pipeline activities on C.W. Matthews’ projects for DOT, commercial, and residential projects. Our crews relocate utilities and install water and sewer mains, fire hydrants, and other water services as needed. You are a natural leader with a strong commitment to safety. On the job, you’ll provide leadership, oversee field personnel, review specs, and hold crews to our standards.

Supervision

• Oversee team members to ensure safety and proficiency.
• Coach employees in safety and utility task performance.
• Assess employees’ competency and potential, pairing them with the right responsibilities and scheduling their shifts.
• Adjust crew activities and planned tasks to meet production schedules.
• Prioritize safety policies and exhibit deep knowledge of company programs and standards.

Project Management

• Read, understand, and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Translate project requirements into prioritized work plans for each Utilities Crew.
• Ensure materials, equipment, and tools are available and sufficient for the job.
• Identify and address potential issues in safety, project approach, cost, or crew relations.
• Report on time, materials, and staffing to the Superintendent and other parties.
